Goatmire, the final countdown

NervesConf is coming up and I'm very excited
On the wind-whipped, rain-beaten shores of Sweden's west coast we took a stand. As the respite of summer fades back into the wet, cold misery and on into the snow-forlorn winter of this miserable coast we saw a moment. The summer crowds scattered. The sun not quite gone yet. And we seized it. -- Unnamed Goatmire organiser
At long last, the time has come to start packing for my trip to Varberg, Sweden. I'm going to Goatmire aka NervesConf EU!
This is going to be my first in-person Elixir event and there will be talks, workshops, desserts...
In addition to all that, this is my first visit to Sweden πΈπͺ. If you've been following me on Mastodon or IG, you have probably seen me posting about Swedish class. This is my third year - currently making my way through B1.1 with a focus on writing. It will be fun to hear native speakers around me for a couple of days and who knows, maybe I will be brave enough to try and speak Swedish while I'm there.
I'm of course realistic - my active vocabulary is currently under 2500 words which means a lot of effort will be required to compress what I want to say into what I can say.
There are a number of small projects I've been working on with AtomVM and Nerves in general. It's exciting to be in a place where everyone will know at least a little bit about this stuff so we can get to nerd out about what makes these things "go" or maybe even build something fun together.
It would be awesome to visit a couple of local bookshops so I can browse and maybe buy a couple of books that are easy to read at my current level. Even if there aren't many bookshops in the city of Varberg itself, GΓΆteborg is not far and I may plan a short hop.
