Let's find a working IRC client for macOS

A couple of days ago, I posted a question on Mastodon if anyone knows of IRC clients for macOS. A lot of interesting suggestions were put forward (thank you everyone for taking the time to reply) and I'm going to list them below for future reference.
Disclaimer: While some of the names below are familiar, I haven't had a chance to try them all or check if they're "safe" to use 😅. These days it's a bit of research we all need to do for ourselves.
Halloy is an open-source IRC client written in Rust, with the Iced GUI library. It aims to provide a simple and fast client for Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms.

Adium is a free instant messaging application for macOS that can connect to XMPP (Jabber), IRC and more.
Pidgin is a chat program which lets you log into accounts on multiple chat networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on XMPP and sitting in an IRC channel at the same time.

Irssi is a modular text mode chat client. It comes with IRC support built in.
